LIFE Platform Meeting – Future-Proofing Europe’s Agri-Food Sector: Innovation, Resilience, Sustainability, and Competitiveness brought forward by the LIFE Programme

Objective

The Platform Meeting will demonstrate how LIFE projects can contribute to and support the achievement of several goals outlined in the “Vision for Agriculture and Food,” by sharing successful practices and innovative approaches that address critical challenges facing the EU’s agricultural and food sectors, including climate change, biodiversity decline, soil degradation, economic sustainability and equity, resource efficiency, and food security.

More broadly, the event seeks to fulfill the overarching goals common to all LIFE Platform Meetings, namely:

• To foster dialogue that integrates practical project insights, feedback, and diverse perspectives in order to enhance strategic policy development by the European Commission and CINEA.
• To highlight and disseminate the outcomes of the projects, as well as the added value of the LIFE Programme as a driver of place-based solutions that promote sustainability, climate neutrality, and resilience in the agricultural and food sector.

To encourage networking, including the exchange of best practices and lessons learned among ongoing and completed LIFE projects, civil society, relevant stakeholders, and other EU-funded initiatives.
